The Center for Alchemical Studies
The Center for Alchemical Studies is a umbrella project under EarthWays.org a 501 (c) (3) corporation.
It was founded in 1997 by Monika Wikman and Tom Elsner to offer a nature based retreat center dedicated to deepening education and the inner experience of the psyche, individually and in community. We believe that energy can be co-created by participants in group community settings, leading to the nourishment of the psyche.
Located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, The Center for Alchemical Studies is housed in a building from the 1800’s that was originally used as a brooder house for chickens. Through loving restoration it now offers a place to gather, surrounded by organic gardens and a creek. We host community events, publishing, scholarships, and writing projects. And sometimes we dance!
As in the iChing hexagram of the well, we gather at the well so waters may nourish the community. We practice a fellowship model, that each voice and each person helps create the whole, and whatever arises as we move through the exercises creates a field phenomenon that as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
The energy is sent home as renewal.
